Muscle Pain
Strenuous activity and musculoskeletal issues can cause muscle pain. Even introducing a new exercise at the gym can leave you feeling stiff and tight. Older individuals also often complain of aching muscles and joints due to age and past injuries that may not have healed correctly. Because of this, those issues can be difficult to pinpoint.
Yet, if you suddenly start feeling like you have ran several miles but haven’t been doing much more than working, or a soreness sets in that makes you question what you did the day before, you might have gotten the flu. Muscle pain is a good sign that you are falling ill, especially when it is combined with another symptom on this list. Keep in mind that joint and muscle pain is usually not included in common cold symptoms.
