Sore Throat

Next on the list of early flu warning signs is sore throat, which may or may not result from coughing and vomiting. Some strains of the flu virus may cause the throat to swell without you ever experiencing a dry cough.

In the beginning stages of the flu, your throat might start to feel irritated and scratchy. You may also feel a strange burning sensation whenever you swallow. The sore throat will usually get more intense as the virus worsens.

To help with your sore throat, you will want to stock up on plenty of liquids, including caffeine-free beverages, soup stock, water, and even apple cider vinegar. You should also gargle with a glass of warm water mixed with ½ a teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt.
