Sore Throat
Similar to a dry cough, a sore throat can be easily overlooked as dehydration, too much snoring in the break room, or that you live in a dry or cool climate. Using a fan can also cause a sore throat because of allergens that are whipped up into the air. You can get a sore throat from bleach fumes, too.
So with all these causes of a sore throat that aren’t related to illness, why should it be a red flag for a virus or infection? Well, a sore throat is one of the signs of a brewing virus! Soon, that sore throat will become more noticeable and annoying as other symptoms worsen.
