Hair Loss
You might not know that hair is actually 90% protein known as keratin. Therefore, it should not be surprising that a lack of protein can cause hair to thin or even fall out. The reason for this is the fact that if you are not getting enough protein, your body will do what it can to preserve what it does have for essential functions (and hair growth is not one of them). If you happen to notice a change in the texture, colour, or dryness of your hair, try and up your protein intake for a few weeks and make note of whether or not a lack of protein is the culprit.
