Poor Sleep
Another function that protein has is helping with stabilizing blood sugar. This can have a hugely negative influence on a person’s ability to sleep, either causing poor sleep or leading to insomnia. Another way that protein impacts sleep is through the production of tryptophan (an amino acid that leads to drowsiness). One way to ensure that you do not experience sleep issues due to a lack of protein is to consume foods high in protein soon before you go to sleep so that your body has enough to produce tryptophan.
