How Does The Flu Virus Spread?
Like many other viruses circulating around, the flu is transmitted directly and indirectly. In other words, whether you come in contact with someone who is ill by touching or kissing them, or you inadvertently touch something they touched, or even if you get sprayed with droplets from a sneeze, you can get the virus.
It has been found that the flu can infect someone from up to 6 feet away through a cough, sneeze, or even simply by speaking. Additionally, the virus can live on hard and porous surfaces for up to 24 hours or longer. That is why it is very important to keep surfaces sterile and to wash you hands frequently.
