Skip The Cat
This myth skirts the line between truth and fiction which makes it even more important for us to cover. The recommendation that is true when it comes to cats and expecting mothers is that they should not empty a cat’s litter box. That is due to concerns with toxoplasmosis, a nasty parasite that can give you a serious infection and cause deformities in your developing fetus.
While it is important for an expecting mother to skip the litter box, that doesn’t mean that you have to avoid your furry friend altogether. You can cuddle, feed, and play with your cat no matter what trimester that you are in. If you have any concerns, you should always wash your hands between playing with your cat and eating or drinking anything.
