Common Flu Symptoms

Flushed, Warm, Clammy Skin

Accompanying a high fever is a “clammy” feeling, where the skin feels damp. You may notice that your face looks red and feels warm. Whether you are sweaty and hot or clammy, it is often caused by fluctuations in your core body temperature.

When you start to get above 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit, the blood vessels will begin to expand in an attempt to cool down. Note that this doesn’t happen only in the face. The skin around your mouth, throat, and even the whites of the eyes can look red or glassy and watery.
