Vulvodynia
Vulvodynia is also known as vaginal depression, and while the idea of a depressed vagina might give some people a chuckle, for those who actually have the condition, it’s no laughing matter. More than 6 million American women are currently suffering from the chronic vulvar pain caused by vulvodynia. Now, a depressed vagina is not caused by lack of sex but rather a series of repeated yeast infections, difficult child-bearing experiences, and forced or uncomfortable sexual encounters. This results in a chronic burning around the vagina, upper thighs, and buttocks.
