    Fibromyalgia

    Fibromyalgia is usually associated with exhaustion, mood disturbances, memory issues, and muscle pain throughout the body. However, it is also characterized by feelings of numbness and tingling in the lower extremities. The cause of fibromyalgia is still up for debate; however, some believe that it is the result of pain signals to the brain that are for some reason intensified. It is estimated that anywhere from twenty to thirty-five percent of individuals with fibromyalgia experience numbness and tingling sensations in the legs and feet. One thing that sets this condition apart is that it can be brought on by either physical or psychological trauma, infections, or surgery. Women are more likely to be diagnosed with this condition than are men.
