Quinoa

Not the easiest to pronounce, quinoa has been super trendy in the last few years. It is very similar to a grain, but technically isn’t one. It is cultivated in the Andes Mountains on plant leaves that are similar to those of sugar beets and spinach. Quinoa has been so popular as of late that there were concerns that it was being over produced and having detrimental effects on those workers that harvest it.

One of the reasons that quinoa has been so popular is due to the fact that it is packed with a ton of nutrients such as Vitamin B12 and magnesium, and for containing almost twice as much fiber as other grains.
