Certain Viruses
Some research has been conducted that examines the likelihood of developing fibromyalgia and certain viruses. For instance, in one study by Dr. David Johnson, participants with fibromyalgia were tested for seventeen different common viruses (like rotavirus, herpes, and the Epstein-Barr virus) and it was found that most participants tested positive for about three to nine of the seventeen. The more common viruses included. There is hope that treating these different viruses with an antiviral could also help to relieve fibromyalgia symptoms.
