Swimming
For those with aches, pains, and arthritis, a nice swim around the pool could be so much more. When you’re floating in the pool, the buoyancy of the water takes the pressure off your joints, so you can move with much less friction. A Canadian study found that patients with osteoarthritis in the hips who swam had a reduced risk of falling and fracturing bones.
Swimming can also tone the muscles, rehabilitate injuries, and keep your cardiovascular endurance. If you like swimming, you can also try water aerobics, water Zumba, and similar group classes.
