Flax seeds
The keto diet requires foods rich in fiber. Flax seeds are perfect in this regard. They are also rich in healthy fats. Flax seeds can be consumed whole or ground. Their versatility makes it easy to add them to many recipes. In fact, you can substitute breadcrumbs with flax seeds when you crave for crispy breaded roasted snacks. Flax seeds can also be ground and mixed with milk then heated in a microwave to make porridge. The mixture thickens like oatmeal and is capable of being transformed into a savory meal in seconds.
Almond Flour
Almonds are rich in fiber, healthy fats, protein as well as magnesium and essential vitamins (Vitamin E). They are therefore a must-have in a keto diet. Almonds are a perfect substitute for nuts and seeds. When made into flour, your options become limitless. You can make bread using almond floor as well as many other delicious treats. When making almond bread, mix almond flour with some baking powder, one egg, and some oil. Microwave the mixture for a minute to make delicious bread which is low in carbs.
