Many households have baking sheets and pans that are older than some of the residents and covered with layers upon layers of spray-on oil and other gunk. Not only does it look unappetizing, but it could also mean the nonstick coating is peeling off and getting into whatever it is you are cooking—and that is not safe.
Charred Oven Mitts
Oven mitts have one job: To prevent your hands from getting horrendously burned. Using mitts that have been scorched or have visible holes is the equivalent of reaching into a fire with your hand wrapped in gauze. It’s not going to save you in the end.
