    It is of course beneficial to eat healthy, exercise, and avoid smoking. However, even the most “fit” person cannot avoid having a stroke if they run in the family. More specifically, if someone in your immediate family has had a stroke your chances are higher than someone who cannot say the same. Certain genetics can cause an individual to have an increased likelihood of having a stroke. For instance, if a person is genetically disposed to having high blood pressure then they are at an increased risk of also having a stroke.
