Floor and Wall Protection
Most heavier pieces of furniture come with tiny circles of felt at the bottom of the legs to pad the floor. Sometimes, those felt circles get lost or fall off. You don’t have to go out and buy replacements that will do the same thing in a few years. Instead, cut some sponges down to the appropriate size and use those instead.
But what about your walls? If you ever had to pry old nails from a wall, you probably understand the heart-wrenching panic you feel about the hammer claws scratching paint or plaster falling away. Well, all you need to do is cushion the hammer or wrench or any other tool that could scrape the wall with the sponge. Now, you can work unhindered!
Here’s another similar application: Padding against bumps and scrapes. If you have children who are just starting to toddle along, you can cut holes into sponges then fit them over the sharp corners of coffee tables or other pieces of furniture.
