Read at least an hour a day.
No, don’t say it. You are never too busy to read. If you have time to scroll lazily through social media posts, you have enough time to pick up a book or a newspaper and read.
Don’t use the excuse that you do not like reading either. The human mind is hardwired for reading. Otherwise, we would not be compelled to make signs and write or use text messages instead of picking up the phone.
Reading is necessary for cognitive function and health. Furthermore, reading can improve your writing and your critical thinking skills.
And even if you still believe that writing isn’t for you, it is simply because you have yet to find the book that speaks to you. Find subject matter that intrigues you and just dive in. One day, you won’t know what you did without a book in hand.
