Be present, no matter where you are.
One of the greatest lessons you can take away from all this is appreciating the small things and being a part of the “here and now.” Enjoy what is unfolding around you presently, because that is all you really have. By practicing mindfulness, you will notice the sensations, such as the taste of your food or drink, the softness of your clothes, or the scent of flowers in the air.
Be present as you read, as you workout, and as you journal. Really reflect on your present state of mind—every day, throughout the day.
That is the trick to all this, too. You have to stick with it. In order for these actions to become a habit, you need to just keep going. Soon, you won’t feel like you have to do it, you will want to do it all!
