Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a nerve disorder that affects the nervous system and can cause leg cramps, in addition to other involuntary muscle spasms and twitching movements.
MS is an auto immune disease and its cause is unknown. New symptoms often develop as the disease progresses over time. Early symptoms on MS include pain and spasms, bladder issues, vision problems, tingling and numbness, weakness, fatigue and balance problems/dizziness. If you have any of these symptoms, in addition to your leg cramps, it is important to have your condition looked at and diagnosed by your primary care physician to receive treatment. Delaying treatment can lead to immobilization if the joints.
