Wrap It Up!
Again, it is worth repeating that while Halloween is about handing out tricks and treats, some people might be all about the trickery. Sometimes people offer whole fruit, for example, which is fine, but you should always inspect it first. There have been instances were needles and other objects are found in unwrapped or unsealed goods.
If the treats look like they have been unwrapped or are homemade and from strangers (rather than someone you know and trust), it is best to say no thank you and move on. Tampering with candy is more common than you think, so it is always best to play it safe. Also, any pre-packaged baked goods, like muffins or brownies, should be inspected for holes in the bag. Take note of the expiration date on treats as well.
