Warning Signs of Lung Cancer

Stubborn Cough

Having a persistent cough does not necessarily mean that you have lung cancer. However, if you have one that does not seem to want to go away and leaves you with a voice that is hoarse and raspy, speak to your doctor if it does not go away even after you have had it consistently for 8 weeks or more. Don’t make the assumption that the underlying cause is either a cold or allergies. It is much better to make sure that these are the reason behind a stubborn cough. Although a cough associated with lung cancer is sometimes assumed to be more of a dry cough that is not always the case. The cough of someone with lung cancer usually happens to worsen at night and might not even be evident during the day. This can lead to sleep issues and overall fatigue (and in turn a lack of productivity). Therefore, it is important not to ignore your symptoms, as doing so will only delay cancer detection.
