Sense of “Impending Doom”
Yes, believe it or not, a sense of an impending doom is an accepted medical symptom for several medical problems and ailments, including heart attack. Yet, if you have never experienced impending doom before, you might not understand what it entails. A sense of impending doom is an emotional reaction to what is happening with your body, even if you cannot fully rationalize what is happening yet. Alongside anxiety, many heart attack sufferers will suddenly think about death and dying for no apparent reason.
You will think that death is imminent.
Signs of sensing doom include:
• The inability to sit still
• Feeling overwhelming uncertainty
• Sense of urgency
• Unable to settle down or relax
• Desire to seek immediate medical care
• Disillusionment and discouragement
• Anxiety
• Seeing or feeling a premonition
• Depersonalization (or separating your identity from your body)
• Hot flashes and sweating (happens in both men and women)
• Shaking or tremors
• Shortness of breath
If your mood suddenly shifts and you experience any of the above, as well as chest pain or pressure or pain elsewhere in the body, you might be having a heart attack. Do not settle on the idea that you might be having a mere panic attack.
