Inability to Empathize
Asperger’s syndrome sufferers also have difficulty empathizing with other people. As they grow older, they learn acceptable social responses when interacting with others. Although they tend to react appropriately or respond by saying the “right thing”, they may not comprehend why others are upset.
This is a source for many issues in childhood since Asperger’s sufferers tend to be too rough with their peers. They may say harsh things and hurt other people unknowingly, and when confronted because of such behavior, they may respond by backing their statements and saying they don’t understand the issue.
