Iron Deficiency
According to Maryland University’s Medical Center, approximately 33% of all Restless Legs Syndrome patients suffer from iron deficiency. The sufferers tend to record iron levels that are too low to cause anemia. The deficiency isn’t linked to inadequate consumption of iron-rich foods, either. According to the source, research suggests that RLS may be caused by iron regulation problems in the body, i.e., issues that stop adequate levels of iron from reaching into cells.
