Hepatitis B Vaccines
Hepatitis B can be prevented using two types of vaccines namely; plasma-derived vaccines and recombinant vaccines. Any of the two vaccines can be used. They are the same in regards to efficacy and duration of protection. Hepatitis B vaccines have been available globally since 1982. The vaccines undergo extensive purification processes and have proven to be effective in protecting 95%+ of the infants, children, and adults who take them. However, it is worth noting that Hepatitis B Vaccine protection levels decrease after age 40 to 90% and 75% by the time a person is reaching age 60.
