Diabetes Symptoms That You Should Be Aware Of

The key towards effective managing your case of diabetes is to identify the symptoms soon after they first begin. The many symptoms of diabetes can be divided into prediabetes symptoms and standard diabetes symptoms that occur when you’ve fully developed any type of diabetes.

Prediabetes Symptoms

If you’re at risk of developing diabetes, you will first enter a stage that’s known as prediabetes, which occurs when your blood sugar levels are too high but have yet to reach a level that could be classified as type 2 diabetes. Unless you make lifestyle changes during this stage, it’s highly likely that you will eventually suffer from type 2 diabetes. However, this is the perfect time to make the right lifestyle changes and keep diabetes at bay, which is why it’s important to be able to identify the symptoms associated with prediabetes.

In many cases, prediabetes won’t have any discernible signs or symptoms, which means that you may not know how important it is to make lifestyle changes before it’s too late. One of the more common signs of prediabetes is darker areas of the skin, which can occur in such areas of the body as your knees, neck, elbows, armpits, or knuckles. The symptoms that indicate that you’ve moved from prediabetes to type 2 diabetes include frequent urination, an increase in your thirst, blurry vision, and fatigue. When it comes to fatigue, this symptom occurs because your body is unable to convert insulin into the right amount of energy that you need throughout the day. Make sure that you see a doctor immediately if you notice any of these symptoms.
