Designate a Quarantine Room

In the event someone you live with gets sick, you need to take extra steps to make sure you and the rest of the family doesn’t catch the same bug. The best way to do this is to set up a quarantine or sick room, where the person with the flu stays during their worst symptoms. Usually, a bed room works just fine, but sometimes you or your partner will have to leave the room for the time being.

Make sure the quarantine room is well stocked with useful items, such as surgical gloves and face masks, some antibacterial wipes, hand sanitizer, tissues, water, a thermometer, medication, humidifier, and other things the person needs. Be sure to protect yourself when entering and exiting the room, and clean anything the sick person touches beyond that room.

Doing so will limit the spread of the flu throughout the rest of your home.
