Tips To Prevent The Flu

Wear Surgical Gloves When Nursing

Sometimes, it is impossible to keep your distance from sick individuals, especially if it is your spouse or child or parent. Since they cannot be left alone, you will have to care for them. However, while it might seem like their needs should be prioritized, your safety is now the most important thing. This means you need to keep yourself from getting infected from secretions, surfaces, and airborne particles. Grab some disposable surgical gloves when working with a sick person.

And don’t touch your face while wearing gloves or eat with the gloves on, either.

Speaking of surgical gloves, let’s also briefly touch on how face masks should fit. You don’t want a poorly sized mask when you are caring for someone dealing with flu-like symptoms. A properly fitting mask will cover everything between the bridge of your nose and your chin. Make sure the mask is snug and doesn’t have any gaps on either side.

Before putting on either gloves or a mask, make sure you wash your hands. Once it is time to take off the mask, wash your hands again and then proceed to remove it. Afterwards, wash your hands again.
