Lesions
A vast majority of people with Lupus will develop sores and lesions in the nose, mouth, and on the skin. The nose sores can be painful upon inhalations, and the Lupus sufferer will experience tenderness whenever they come in contact with the lesions. In the mouth, the sores look more like canker sores, and these can make drinking, eating, or talking an anguishing task.
People with Lupus are also sensitive to sunlight. Staying under the sun for hours without protection is dangerous for Lupus sufferers, because they are more at risk to sun poisoning, leading to the development of lesions on the skin. Although the connection between Lupus and sunlight is not known, if you experience skin lesions, consider getting yourself tested.
