Muscle & Joint Stiffness
Stiffness in muscles and joints is another symptom of Fibromyalgia, which often occurs without a trigger (like strenuous physical activity). Often this pain is experienced throughout the entire body. However, sometimes the pain might be experienced in only one specific area. It is suggested that individuals with Fibromyalgia do their best not to stay motionless for long periods of time, which is sometimes hard to do with our more sedentary lifestyles.
In some people with Fibromyalgia, moving around can actually make things worse, and not better. Unfortunately, in most cases, over the counter pain medications do not usually offer any relief (at least in the long run). In some cases, Fibromyalgia sufferers might seek out harder drugs in order to experience some relief.
