Depression
The last symptom on our list, but definitely not the least important is depression. This likely is not a shock to you after reading all of the different things that someone with Fibromyalgia may have to deal with on a daily basis such as being in constant pain and not being able to sleep properly. However, it is also possible that depression is not actually a result of the Fibromyalgia but that it is simply another co-morbid condition. There is a possibility that changes in the chemistry of the brain is the cause, and not the experience of the other symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
Luckily, those with Fibromyalgia often respond well to antidepressants. Even more, antidepressants can actually help relieve some of the other symptoms such as muscle stiffness and pain, so it is possible that someone with Fibromyalgia could be prescribed them even if they do not experience depression like symptoms.
