Bone Pain

Chronic pain in the bones is one of the most recognizable symptoms of bone cancer. You will feel a burning, radiating, itching kind of pain that lasts for long periods of time. These sensations are caused by the tumor growing within the bone and pressing on the nerves and other organs. Most of the time, the pain is not constant but comes and goes, especially during periods of activity, when the bones may be bearing weight.

As the cancer grows and spreads, the pain will become more frequent. You may also experience pain that travels along the nerves to other parts of the body, which is called “referred pain.” If you feel a pain deep within your bones that was never there before, you could have bone cancer.
