Staying Sicker, Longer
A common cold should last no more than 3 days, but if you find yourself bedridden and up to your ears in tissues for a week, something is definitely amiss. Weakened immune systems will cause the common cold to have an extra long duration, because your body will be less prepared to find off infections. Moreover, you will tend to get more harmful viruses more frequently, which will exhaust your immune system more quickly.
Your can help prevent colds from taking some a toll on your body by upgrading your diet and nutrition. During cold and flu seasons, supplement your immune system with 500 mg of vitamin C, 5000 IU of vitamin D3, and some olive leaf extract. You should also consider getting some extra magnesium, too.
Paying some attention to your digestive health during cold season is important too. Be sure to eat plenty of fermented foods and pre/probiotics, like kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut, yogurt, kefir, quark, and the like to ensure your gut bacteria stays healthy.
