    Changes In Appetite

    As mentioned above, hyperthyroidism can lead to either weight loss or weight gain. One reason for this is the fact that it can also have an influence on an individual’s appetite in the following ways: increasing it, decreasing it, and influencing the foods that are craved. It is more likely that an individual’s appetite will increase, not decrease, when it is a result of hyperthyroidism. If you think that your sudden change in appetite and/or taste might be due to an overactive thyroid, speak to your doctor. It might be helpful to keep a food diary in order to keep track of any changes in appetite..
