Somatostatinomas
Somatostatinomas produce the master regulatory hormone somatostatin. Somatostatin keeps the digestive system on the same page so food can be efficiently digested and metabolized. When you have too much of this hormone, you will notice nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain. In extreme cases, it may also affect the liver.
