Glucagonomas
A glucagonoma is a special type of tumor of the pancreas. This tumor releases a hormone called glucagon, which raises blood sugar levels and plays other important roles in the body. People with this tumor will notice a variety of unusual symptoms, including dangerously high blood sugar, swelling of the tongue, sores around the mouth, and a blistering skin rash called necrolytic migratory erythema.
