Fainting
Fainting for no reason or a sensation of almost fainting is often associated with heart palpitations. This fainting, not surprisingly, is often experienced in conjunction with dizziness, and light-headedness. In more extreme instances, it can even lead to a sudden collapse and/or cardiac arrest. Fainting can be the result of different arrhythmias including the bradycardia, or several tachycardias, WPW, and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (which occurs when the heart beats so quickly that can cause issues when a person changes positions (like going from lying down to standing). Fainting with a bradycardia is often the result of the brain not receiving enough oxygen whereas tachycardia is another cause of fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath, and fainting. This is yet another reason why it is important to keep your doctor up to speed with any health issues that you are experiencing. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
