Anal Fistula
An anal fistula occurs when a small channel forms between the skin near the anus and the anal canal. Anal fistulas cause pain and bleeding and, in some cases, can only be repaired via surgery, so It’s important to get checked out by your doctor if you think you have one.
An anal fistula can occur after surgery to drain an anal abscess, and produces bright red blood in stool. Other symptoms of anal fistula include irritation around the anus, swelling, redness, tenderness, discharge of pus, fever and constipation.
