Grinding Your Teeth

Many people do not realize that they grind their teeth when they sleep. It is a subconscious action with very physical results. When you wake up in the morning, you may have a headache, pain in the jaw, a stiff neck, and general fatigue. Tooth-grinding does more than that, though. It wears away at the enamel, exposing the dentin—the tooth’s middle layer—which is highly sensitive.

If you think you are grinding your teeth, you should speak to a doctor or a dentist as soon as possible. You can also wear a mouth guard when you sleep to prevent the grinding.
