Some acidic items include tomatoes, oranges, red wine, yogurt, soda, and the like. White bread, margarine, potato chips, french fries and other high fat, ultra-processed foods are also considered acidic, because they are high in simple carbohydrates that break down into sugar when digested. Since digestion begins in the mouth, such items are bound to affect your gums and tooth enamel.
