Symptoms of PCOS

Aside from trouble during menstruation or with getting pregnant, many women find out that they have PCOS after expressing concern over the following symptoms:

Irregular Hair Growth

One of the unfortunate effects of PCOS would be irregular hair growth. Women with PCOS may report any number of hair-related issues, including thinning hair, male-pattern baldness, or even excessive hair growth (a condition known as hirsutism).

With hirsutism, women often get noticeably darker and thicker hair in embarrassing places, such as the face, toes, chest, stomach, fingers, and back. However, not every woman with PCOS will have issues with hair growth. Ethnicity can also influence the possibility of hirsutism.

On the other hand, hair loss is more severe in middle-aged PCOS patients. You may notice that more hair is falling out in the sink, or you may see hair recession or thinning on the top of your head.
