Are You A Hoarder?

Diminished Quality of Life

Because hoarders often have households with a lack of functional space, they often reside in dangerous and unhealthy conditions as well. Many hoarders will be unable to rid their houses of broken items, appliances, and usually disregard certain comforts, like heating in the winter. Since they do not want their items disturbed, they will cope with deterioration instead of having qualified professionals enter their homes to fix problems.

Hoarding also causes negative emotions to overflow. Resentment, rage, anger, embarrassment, depression, anxiety, and more are common among family members dwelling in the same house. Conditions that are unsafe and inhospitable often lead to separation and divorce among married couples or partners, eviction due to lack of maintenance, and loss of children custody or animals.
