High-value rewards cards
Travelling can be costly especially if it is part of your day-to-day life. A premium travel reward card can help you lower your travel costs. Cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve may be costly (costs $450 yearly) however, such a card is worth the fee in some instances.
According to Palmer, such a card will offer you more value for money than a mileage card with no yearly fees if you spend a sizable amount of money on travel every year and you want to maximize on travel rewards. You can earn a lot of money (thousands of dollars) in points or miles with a premium card which justifies the card fee as a worthy splurge. However, this can vary depending on the charge as well as how often/far you travel.
