7. Lung Cancer
Definitely the most dangerous causes of NCCP is lung cancer, as it is the leading cause of cancer deaths among Americans. Although arguably not talked about as often, lung cancer is more deadly than colon, prostate, ovarian, and breast cancers together.
Although not all sufferers of lung cancer smoke, smoking greatly increases the risk of developing lung cancer. There are different types of lung cancer, the main two being non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) including squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, and large cell carcinoma and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), also known as oat cell cancer. Luckily, there are a variety of treatments for lung cancers including surgery, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy.
