Nail Trauma
Brown or red spots can form underneath the fingernail if there has been recent trauma or a recent injury to the nail. If you happen to tear the nail badly or cut through it, you should seek medical attention right away for treatment. If you happen to notice oddly colored spots underneath the nail and have not experienced any sort of trauma to the area then you should speak to your doctor in order to try and determine the underlying cause.
