With early detection of any thyroiditis or hyper/hypothyroidism, you can be put on hormone replacement therapies or other medications to aid in restoring balance to the gland.
For thyroid cancer, survivability is very high. Even if the cancer is terminal, the condition can be maintained for around twenty years. That is about four to five times longer than the prognosis for other terminal cancers. Now, if you detect the cancer before it reaches the terminal stage, you can survive much, much longer—because the cancer can be treated and put into remission.
