While thyroid diseases affect anyone at any age, there is one group that is more likely to receive a diagnosis concerning the thyroid. Surprisingly, this group is not women aged 65 years and older. It’s women in their prime.
Yes, you read that right. Women between the ages of 30-60 years old are more at risk of developing thyroid diseases than those who are older than that. This means that women who are trying to cement their careers, start families, and take control of their lives in every sense could be hit with a disease that is debilitating at times. Because thyroid disease can be difficult to detect, diagnosis and treatment can be put off for years, and that can slow down the woman’s endeavors.
