Bed Rest
For those with very severe sciatica discomfort, bed rest can be a quite helpful way of dealing with the feelings. WebMD recommends that people with sciatica try three days of bed rest on either a firm mattress or a floor. This helps to take pressure off the nerves and adjust posture.
However, Spine-Health.com cautions people to avoid overdoing bed rest. Spending too long in bed can just pinch the nerves in new ways and cause more discomfort.
