Remember The Meaning of The Holidays
Think for a moment about the reason for the season. Whether you are religious or not, the underlying purpose for the holidays is to celebrate togetherness with others. However, commercialism has drawn our attention away from the true reason of the holidays to consumerism and the need to buy oodles of presents people in our lives. Don’t get so wrapped up in the gift-giving.
Think to classic stories like Scrooge and The Grinch. The moral of the tales is that spreading joy and compassion is much more important than material possessions. Spending time together with friends and family is a greater gift than anything money can buy. So instead of worrying about what you can afford to give, invest time and energy in those you love and care for.
